Jon Hume
Jon Daniel Hume (born 6th November 1983) is the eldest of the three Hume brothers.
Although Jon was born in Australia, after his family's move to New Zealand, his brothers, Peter Dann were born in Feilding. The boys all attended a local school until they were about twelve years of age, at which time, they became home schooled, primarily by their mother.
Jon produces the majority of the band's work. He has also produced and mixed for artists such as Amy Meredith, Lisa Mitchell & Matt Corby.
With the release of the band's third album, Jon's appearance changed in attempt to become a character portrayed in the album, his two brothers appearances also changed to fit character. His curly brown hair turned peroxide blonde. Recently, Jon's appearance changed again, with his hair now a dark curly brown in time for their UK/European tour.
Jon plays a Takemine 12 Steel String Electric Guitar and has many changes on stage with guitars, he can play either a 6 or a 12 steel string guitar either Acoustic or Electric. The brand of electric guitar he uses is Gretsch and Epiphone. In addition to the appearance change that came with their most recent album, Truth of the World: Welcome to the Show, Jon's guitar choice also changed. He began playing a heavily modified Epiphone Dot Studio which he had personally painted a custom silver and installed a Tenori-on display panel into, which was often left unused in live performances due to the difficulty of operation.
In May 2012 Jon was featured on the Hook N Sling song "Surrender" which he co-wrote from his studio in rural Victoria (The Stables Recording Studio).
