Make Poverty History - Sidney Myer Music Bowl

15,000 free tickets will be available via a balloting system, to be conducted via SMS later in October.

Organised by 19-year-old Dan Adams, the concert will feature performances from Eskimo Joe, Evermore, Sarah Blasko, Hilltop Hoods, Paul Kelly and John Butler Trio. Bono, who will be in town for two U2 concerts, will be asked to speak at the event, which takes place Friday November 17 at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.

Modelled on the Live 8 series of benefit concerts, the event is intended to ignite awareness among young people. The concert coincides with the G20 global economic summit in Melbourne.
