Red pants, red pants… it’s all i ever hear about! they’re just pants, people!

I’m worrying that the only thing i’ll ever been known for is wearing red pants.

We’ve been at home for a few days… we should be relaxing for the non-stop-touring-madness but we’re already recording new songs. New tracks are sounding really different, more rhythmic and intense.

We’re currently working on a track called “Julie stole my blanket (And i think she ate it)”. Different, huh? It’ll be our next No.1 i reckon.

Yesterday i finally left the house, and all i did was go out and buy 4 Seasons of Seinfeld - i think i have a problem. I keep hear shakers and slap bass everywhere i go. The good news is i’m getting a six pack of ads from laughing so hard.

Unbreakable live EP is out - it’s cool that all you can hear what we’ve been doing with ourselves for a last 9 months. So many shows!

The Clipsal gig in Adelaide was one of our best ever! thanks to those who came and made us go crazy. Here’s some pix…

Oh and, you gotta see this. A friend sent me this pic from the big day out… And it is the most ridiculous thing i’ve seen. I look like a classical conductor who munched too many Beroccas! haha

peace,
x-Dann

G’day.
We’ve Been at home for a week and a half now, but it seems like ages.
Coming back to “Normal life” after Big Day Out is always a strange experience. Not to say its a bad thing, I’ve been looking forward to being domestic for a while. It’s just Big Day Out’s more intense than your average tour, it briefly becomes it’s own traveling city (or circus more likely). It’s great to be home though.

One thing that always hits you when you get back is the amount of things that need to be done. Little chores and jobs build up while your away and keep you pretty busy the time you actually are at home.
My Driving License has been like that. Well it’s been like that for years. Anyway me and Dann knuckled down and got our L’s yesterday. So far neither of us has crashed.

License 01

I’ve also been stuck into writing new songs (so have Dann and Jon) which is something you miss alot when your away, especially now we have a proper upright piano in the house. It’s early days but exciting to hear some of the new tracks.

Check out the photos section for BDO photos and keep an eye or out cos theres some new stuff coming to the site soon.
Catchya later,
PH

To my one true love, you are the paragon of virtue in my…… Woah! *cough* I mean, G’day Ya’ll!

Happy Valentines Day to all you girls out there, and i guess also to the guys that aren’t homophobic. :-)

Valentines 2007

Big Day Out is over! that was the longest, craziest, sweatiest tour of my life. Thanks to all who came and rocked along with us through these two lonely countries.

Cool People on the tour:

  • Tommy from Kasabian. Who would have thought me and man like Tommy would becomes comrades on the battlefield of rock? Not i! But he liked my dress sense and we bonded like we had a license to kill.
  • Chris from Muse. Absolute legend. We talked about cricket and having kids mostly… No, i have no children… and what a bass player!
  • Ronnie from the Killers. Could a man be nicer? Sheesh. Great and wonderfully loose drummer.
  • The Vines. Never met any of them until the tour, lovely lads. And guess what, the put on the some of the best shows of the tour. Their gonna make a comeback for sure.
  • And everyone else: Great people! Had a blast!

Highlights of the Tour:

  • Muse in Adelaide. Kicking ass never looked so easy. Man!
  • Jumping onstage with the Presets in perth. Pretty sure Jon and i was the only 2 guys not on drugs… but great fun nonetheless!
  • The Vines in Sydney. I was in the pit for half of it… Man, i got sweaty.
  • The Veils in Auckland. Great band, great songs, great great great. BUT THEM NOW. Nuff said.
  • Adelaide After Party: Fav party i’ve ever been too! Danced with Matt from Muse to Michael Jackson - talk about dreams coming true!

And Yes it’s true, you got me - i’m helping out on a show called Rock Room on [V]. It’s been fun, interviewing and quizzing bands. It’s starts on March 28th i think, so if you can, check it out.

I will say one thing, the first episode… it was filmed the morning after Sydney Big Day Out 07 After Party. And, erm, i hadn’t really slept much to say the least. I look like a truck ran over me! Haha…

I do a part on the show called the Rock Off - where i quiz band members on rock trivia. Not a lot unlike Spicks and Specks (which i’m on tonight! Tune in!). I think i’ve made some enemies with my questions though… hehe.

We’ve all been song writing over the last few weeks. Some greats songs cropping up which may end up Evermore Album Number Three. It’s gonna be a triple concept album about washing machines. Should be done by 2014. Hehehe, i think you know i’m kidding.

I’ll try and keep in touch better from now on peeps.
We’re setting up a Questions for the Evermore Lads real soon. Should be fun….

peace, love and cards with pre-written heart-felt messages.
BYE!

PS. New glasses… can you dig? They’re signature Harry Po..*cough*, i mean, John Lennon.

Hey guys,
It’s me again, coming to you from the Big Day Out in sunny Adelaide..
Had a great time today, though it had to be one of the hottest and sweatiest Evermore shows ever!
Thanks for all who came down to Bondi for the Google fly over, I don’t think it actually worked out, the google plane was heavily delayed because of other air traffic apparently. But hey.. we gave it a go and had fun anyway.
And why pictures of us with snakes you ask?… well why not!
Till next time - Jon
From Bondi…

No.1 messsage

Hey Everyone,

BIG ups to all who got their hands on our single last week!

Its all of you who made it number one, not us!!

Its a good feeling, and a couple of weeks ago we wouldn’t have even
thought this was possible..

On top of that, so far the Big Day Out has been living up to all
expectations of being the coolest festival in town (well more like
HOTTEST festival, after the Gold Coast show the other night!).

All in all it’s been a great start to the new year for us, I hope
yours has been as much of a blast.

See you soon - Jon, Peter and Dann

P.S. oh, and our mate Kenny says “Gidday”

Hey Hey Hey (to quote the great Fat Albert).
I hope everyones well and didn’t do too much damage to yourselves at Christmas and New years.
We are in the process of getting ready for big day out, which is a lot like the training montage in “Cool Runnings”.
I have also gone through a whole heap of photos from the last few months which should be on the website in the next few days.
As you may have noticed the Unbreakable vid is up, which in my opinion is one of best yet. Our friends the Mathmatics did a awesome job on that.
Any catch you guys later, at the Big day out or further down the line.

Merry Christmas my little pretties!
What a night, we just played a chrizzy eve show in Terrigal, which is up the road from where we used to live… And it was nuts! In a good way, like macadamia nuts and cashew nuts. :-)
The whole town had a power cut half way through Old Man River, our beloved support act. It was freaky, everyone was walking round in circles spilling drinks saying “It’s too dark!” or “What did i just step in?”…
Lucky Santa and his super sleigh turned up just before we played and we plugged the PA into Rudolph’s nose and it was a sweet gig!

This is me with some sunglasses i was given for christmas tonight.
Totally what 14 year olds wear at malls, but, well, but, yeah.

It’s been an AMAZINGLY amazing year, so MASSIVELY massive thanks to everyone was has been there for us or come to a show or even just turned up the radio when we’re on. We can’t wait to spend next year hangin’ out with youse!!! (i can get away with a “youse” on Christmas i think.)

LOVE
stay tuned for more exciting bloggy adventures, perhaps one of us opening presents and eating cake… :-)

Hey Everyone,

Good to be back on the road again, we just had a week off and got some much needed R&R in Vanuatu (watch out for some photos soon).

Our days consisted mainly of doing nothing, swimming out on the reef, writing a couple of songs, and doing more nothing.
We even went out saling and saw turtles and a pod of dolphins.

We have about ten more shows around NSW this month.. and of course Pyramid Rock for new years, so we’ll see you all soon..

Cheers - Jon

Howdy folks…
just played a show in Campbelltown, and your guys rocked us! possibly the highest jumpers of the tour…
On the way home i watched the new Crowded House dvd of their last show, EVERYONE must get this. So good, love their songs to pieces. There’s a lot of banta and songs they edited out on the VHS version from all those years back.

Going on holiday tomorrow! Still can’t believe we’re not playing a show… it’s been my life for the last year. Show, show, show! But i think it’ll be very good for us… Got about 49 unfinished songs to try and make sense of. How bad is that? I work on my holidays… i should probably promise myself to not touch an instrument for the first 3 days. Wish me luck.

See you when we get back - we’ll try and send ya’ll a postcard!

Wow. I just noticed we’ve had a million plays on our myspace… That’s officially nuts. MySpace one day will become more popular than real world it’s looking. People will be like “Check out my page in real world” and someone could say “What? Huh? Real world?”.

So yes, the New Zealand tour was a much pleasurable experience… It was so much fun. The crowd’s came out in flocks and sang their lungs out. We hadn’t really played our shows there, really ever… Not since the awkward Feilding years. Here’s some pix…

OK, let’s get this straight. Make Poverty History Concert was probably the most fun show OF ALL TIME for us. I couldn’t stop smiling like a proud mother at a school pantomime. It had the best vibe ever. And we kicked it, and I don’t mean that in a arrogant way at all… more of a egotistical way. Hehe. No, it was a great night and all the bands put on great shows and were in it for the good cause. Oh yeah, Bono was there too. :P

Peace out my hippies!!
